A Little More About Us ...

Louie Cini
Owner/Engineer
When I left school shortly before my 16th birthday, I was keen on learning a trade If possible. The idea of university or further education didn’t overly appeal to me at the time. I opted to ask friends and family if they knew of any job vacancies and I soon found myself in work at 16, labouring for a building company.
It was hard graft and after a few months I knew that being in the building trade so to speak wasn’t going to be my lifelong career choice. Being a keen footballer since the age of 5, I was really excited by an opportunity that a friend had been speaking to me about which involved playing football at Easton college just outside of Norwich. It also involved gaining sports qualifications and a chance to pursue a career in sport.
I started just after my 17th Birthday and it was great, I loved every minute of it. The difficulty came in balancing the need to earn money but also wanting to work hard and study well. During my time there, I was always on the lookout for work opportunities to support myself during my time at college.
British Gas Apprentice
One day in April 2010, I stumbled across an advert for a British Gas Young Apprentice scheme; I couldn’t resist the opportunity to gain a career with such a large, reputable company.
I applied and over the following weeks and several interviews, I was successful in gaining a position within British Gas as an apprentice.
Over the next 2 years, I travelled back and forth to the Leicester Academy to study all things gas and central heating. In 2012, I passed my apprenticeship and left the academy with my shiny, new tools and started my full-time career as a Technical Gas Engineer for British Gas.
Progressing In The Industry
In 2015, I started to have my head turned by opportunities to progress within the business. After 3 years of being on the ‘tools’, I found myself sitting in different training environments up and down the country, learning lots of new skills to progress my career. In 2016, I was successful in gaining promotion and I became the manager of a team of 20 gas engineers. It was a baptism of fire, but I really enjoyed the challenge of managing people and helping others, including customers.
Things moved quickly and lots of opportunities were now coming my way, including another promotion to Area Manager in 2019 – this role was huge, and I was now looking after 12 managers and 215 engineers.
Starting The Business
Fast forward 2 and a half years, the job wasn’t what I had hoped for, and I was after a change, a new challenge.
The thought of being my own boss and having my own customers to look after was so appealing but I wasn’t 100% sure on doing it on my own.
The opportunity to start a new heating company with my good friend and colleague, Steve was too good to turn down.
The business was formed in the middle of 2021 and here we are, serving local customers and trying to give the best experience possible.
Away from work, I’m a keen golfer and avid West Ham fan (I know, I know, you’ve been put off now)

Steve Vincent
Owner/ Engineer
Leaving school just before my 16th birthday, like many youngsters I had no idea what I wanted to do in life. The logical solution was to apply to the family business ‘British Gas, as an apprentice Technical Engineer. My grandfather had joined BG shortly after the 2nd world war and my father then joined in the late 60’s and both had been highly skilled engineers. Unfortunately, at the time they were not taking on apprentices and I was forced to look elsewhere.
I joined Heatrae Sadia Heating Ltd in 1987 and worked for 17 years in the after sales service department, dealing with home owners, plumbers, electricians, developers etc in all aspects of electric water heating, from showers to boiling water dispensers to large unvented hot water storage cylinders. I worked on the technical desks providing advice and support and went on to managing office teams and later the national field network of service engineers. This grounding in customer service and knowledge of how electric heating worked was the ideal introduction to my next career move.
Joining British Gas
In 2004, I finally got to join British Gas after a chance conversation with my brother, who leaving school 2 years after me, had become one of the new apprentices and later an engineer, who said they were recruiting adult apprentices with varying backgrounds.
My previous experience held me in good stead and I was in. During my 17 years at British Gas, I spent the majority of the time as a Technical Engineer, but also moved on as a Technical Excellence Coach before moving into managing the Norwich team of engineers and later North Norfolk engineers.
A New Beginning...
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with BG and the skills I have gained have been invaluable and I have met some brilliant people many of whom are still good friends but i always harboured the ambition to work for myself.
So in 2021, I made the momentous decision to form this business with my friend and colleague Louie and so the story goes on…..
Personal Life
On a personal note I coached and managed my sons local football team, Horsford FC, from the age of 6 to 16 and am now in my first season assisting with Buxton FC, where I have watched and enjoyed seeing my son move over into adult football.
When I’m not working or on a football pitch the other place you will likely find me is participating at CrossFit RS3.
Exercise for me is crucial for mental and physical health and hopefully will enable me to bound up and down stairs, crawl in and out of lofts and all manner of things in-between for many years to come.

Heating Engineer Apprentice
I spent my high school years at Hellesdon High School, and I started sixth form there in September 2021 but soon realised that it wasn’t for me and that I wanted to learn new things and spend my time out getting a trade and as much hands on experience as possible. I decided that I wanted to become a gas and heating engineer as I guess it must be in my DNA, I am now the fourth generation to go into the gas trade, following the same career path as my Great Grandad, Grandad, Dad & Uncle.
When I am not on-site learning from my mentors, I attend City College Norwich one day a week, for my formal training which will continue throughout my two-and-a-half-year apprenticeship. Outside of work, I have played football for Horsford Youth from the age five up until I was sixteen years old where I have since transitioned into men’s football playing for Buxton FC. I’m really looking forward to learning about modern technology, and how the future of heating and plumbing will change in my lifetime.
